US Open Cup

15 games were played on Wednesday as the third round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament came to a close.

At Richmond, Virginia:

The Richmond Kickers (USL Pro) defeated visiting Greek American AA (USASA) 2-1.

At Queens, New York:

Jimmy Ockford (10') and Hagop Chirishian (30') delivered the goals as the New York Cosmos (North American Soccer League, the second highest level of soccer in the United States) blanked the visiting Brooklyn Italians (NPSL) 2-0 in a New York City derby.

At Towson, Maryland:

Morgan Langley (8', 80') and Jimmy McLaughlin (31', PK-37') each scored twice as the visiting Harrisburg City Islanders (USL Pro) doubled up the Baltimore Bohemians (PDL) 4-2.

At Indianapolis:

Blake Smith delivered a hat trick (26', 30', 88') as the Indy Eleven (NASL) dominated the visiting Dayton Dutch Lions (USL Pro) 5-2.

At Pittsburgh:

Jhonny Arteaga scored the winning goal in the 112th minute as the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL Pro) defeated visiting RWB Adria (USASA) 3-2 in overtime.

At West Des Moines, Iowa:

Christian Ramirez scored the only goal of the match in the 86th minute as Minnesota United FC (NASL) defeated the Des Moines Menace (PDL) 1-0 on the road.

At Fort Lauderdale, Florida:

Esteban Bayona's stoppage-time penalty kick (90's+2) enabled the Laredo Heat (PDL) to come back from a two-goal deficit and shock the home-standing Fort Lauderdale Strikers (NASL) 3-2 on the road.

At San Antonio, Texas:

Sainey Touray scored twice (64', 69') as the San Antonio Scorpions (NASL) doubled up the visiting NTX Rayados (USASA) 4-2.

At Peoria, Arizona:

Bradlee Baladez scored the winning goal in the 112th minute as Arizona United defeated the visiting Oklahoma City Energy 2-1 in an overtime battle of USL Pro clubs.

At Sacramento, California:

Sacramento Republic FC (USL Pro) annihilated the visiting Fresno Fuego (PDL) 6-0.

At Cary, North Carolina:

The Carolina Railhawks (NASL) blanked the visiting Charlotte Eagles (USL Pro) 2-0.

At Carson, California:

After a 0-0 stalemate through 120 minutes, PSA Elite (USASA) won the penalty-kick shootout over  the home-standing Los Angeles Galaxy II (USL Pro) 3-1 to advance to the fourth round.

At Chattanooga, Tennessee:

Efrain Burgos, Jr. scored twice in the first half (15', 43') as the Atlanta Silverbacks (NASL) demolished ten-man Chattanooga FC (NPSL) 5-0 on the road.

At Charleston, South Carolina:

After a 2-2 deadlock through 120 minutes, the visiting Orlando City U23s (PDL) won a marathon penalty-kick shootout against the Charleston Battery (USL Pro) 12-11.

At Orlando, Florida:

Orlando City (USL Pro) dominated the visiting Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL) 4-1.


Match-ups for the fourth round, in which will see the entry of all 16 US-based Major League Soccer clubs:
