The preliminary round of the CONCACAF Champions League continued with three games on Wednesday.
At Bayamon, Puerto Rico:
Despite dropping a 2-1 decision at home in game two of their two-match set, the Puerto Rico Islanders still won their series with the Los Angeles Galaxy 5-3 on aggregate.
At Torreon, Mexico:
Jose Rodolfo Reyes scored twice (3', 80') as Santos Laguna demolished visiting San Juan Jabloteh 5-0 in game two and won their two-game series 6-0 on aggregate.
At San Pedro Sula, Honduras:
Despite dropping game two 2-1 at home, CD Marathon still eliminated Tauro FC 4-2 on aggregate.
NOTE: Santos Laguna will play in Group B along with the Columbus Crew, CSD Municipal (Guatemala), and the winner of Brujas (Costa Rica)-Joe Public (Trinidad and Tobago). CD Marathon will join Monterrey (Mexico), CD Saprissa (Costa Rica), and Seattle Sounders FC in Group C. The Puerto Rico Islanders will play in Group D alongside Toluca (Mexico), CD Olimpia (Honduras), and the winner of CD FAS (El Salvador)-Club Xelaju MC (El Salvador).
