Copa Libertadores: Goats Drop Finals Opener At Home

At Zapopan, Mexico:

Goals from Giuliano Victor de Paula (72') and Fabian "Bolivar" Guedes (76') enabled Internacional to erase a one-goal halftime deficit and grab all three points with a 2-1 road win over Chivas de Guadalajara in match one of the two-game Copa Libertadores final on Wednesday.  The series will conclude next Wednesday at Porto Alegre, Brazil.  Since they became the only South American entry left in the tournament, win or lose, the Brazilian club has already earned the right to represent CONMEBOL in December's FIFA Club World Cup.  The Goats, being a Mexican club, and with Mexico part of CONCACAF, cannot represent South American in the United Arab Emirates.
