salted away a second successive 1-0 win over Lech Poznan, this time on the road in game two, to take out the Polish club for the series 2-0 on aggregate.

At Zagreb, Croatia:

After game two ended a 1-1 deadlock between Dinamo Zagreb (Sammir making a successful penalty kick at 55 minutes) and visiting FC Sheriff
(Vladimir Volkov scoring at 18 minutes), and with the two-match series stalemated at 2-2 on aggregate, the series went into---and through---30 scoreless minutes of overtime.  The series was decided in the penalty kick shootout, where Artiom Haceaturov converted the shootout---and series----winning kick in the ninth round as the visiting Moldovan club took the shootout 6-5 to advance to the playoff round.

At Thessaloniki, Greece:

At Glasgow, Scotland:

Despite dropping a 2-1 decision in game two on the road, SC Braga won their two-game series with Celtic 4-2 on aggregate. Paulo Cesar scored for the Archbishops, who will be playing in the playoff round for a spot in the group stage.

The drawing for the playoff round will take place on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.  The teams that lost their two-match series on Tuesday and Wednesday this week will play in the playoff round for berths in the Europa League's group stage.
