Three teams advanced to the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League on Tuesday.
At Tegucigalpa, Honduras:
Goals from Dwayne De Rosaria (59') and Chad Barrett (79') carried Toronto FC to a 2-2 road draw with CD Motagua in game two and a 3-2 aggregate win for the two-game series.
At San Salvador, El Salvador:
Alvaro Fernandez scored at 74 minutes to carry Seattle Sounders FC to a 1-1 road draw with AD Isidro Metapan in game two, enabling the Sounders to take their two-match set 2-1 on aggregate.
At Mexico City:
Javier Orozco's hat trick (11', 45', 84') combined with Maximiliano Biancucci's double (18', 90'+2) as Cruz Azul demolished visiting San Francisco FC 6-0 in game two to polish off the Panamanian club in their two-game series 9-2 on aggregate.
NOTE: Cruz Azul and Toronto FC will play in Group A alongside Real Salt Lake from Major League Soccer and CD Arabe Unido from Panama. The Seattle Sounders will play in Group C along with Monterrey of Mexico, CD Saprissa from Costa Rica, and the winner of the Tauro (Panama)/CD Marathon (Honduras) series.
