The much anticipated contest between the New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire ended in a 0-0 stalemate. Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson made seven saves in the game to salvage the home draw.
At Seattle:
Goalkeeper Kasey Keller preserved the shutout while Fredy Montero (64') and Alvaro Fernandez (88') provided the scoring as Seattle Sounders FC blanked the visiting Houston Dynamo 4-0, stretching their unbeaten streak to five games.
