CONCACAF Gold Cup: Canada and El Salvador Post Wins on Opening Day

The 2009 edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup began on Friday with two contests from Group A, both games taking place in Carson, California:

In the opener, Ali Gerba scored the only goal of the match (75') as Canada defeated Jamaica 1-0.

In the nightcap, Osael Romero doubled (20', 87') as El Salvador doubled-up Costa Rica 2-1.
