FIFA World Cup: Only European Teams Remain As France And Belgium Knock Out Uruguay And Brazil Respectively To Advance To Semifinals

The quarterfinal round of the FIFA World Cup commenced in Russia on Friday with two games.


At Nizhny Novgorod:

Raphael Varane (40') and Antoine Griezmann (61') each scored once as France blanked Uruguay 2-0.

At Kazan:

Keven De Brunye scored the winning goal in the 31st minute as Belgium held off Brazil 2-1, reaching the semifinals for the first time since 1986.
