at Montreal:
Saphir Taider (8') and Ingnacio Piatti (74') each scored once as the Montreal Impact blanked the visiting San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 for their fifth win in their last six starts.
At Foxborough, Massachusetts:
Second-half stoppage-time goals from Dave Romney (90'+2) and Chris Pontius (90'+3) enabled the Los Angeles Galaxy to come from behind to upend the New England Revolution 3-2 on the road.
At Frisco, Texas:
Kellyn Acosta scored the winning goal in the 74th minute as FC Dallas defeated the visiting Chicago Fire 3-1.
At Washington:
Paul Arriola scored twice (69', 80') as DC United, with Wayne Rooney making his MLS debut coming off the bench, defeated the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 in their inaugural match at Audi Field.
At Minneapolis:
Miguel Ibarra scored the winning goal in the 68th minute as Minnesota United held off visiting Real Salt Lake 3-2.
At Orlando, Florida:
Dom Dwyer scored the game winner at 48 minutes as Orlando City snapped their franchise-record nine-match losing streak by holding off visiting Toronto FC 2-1.
At Commerce City, Colorado:
The Colorado Rapids and visiting Houston Dynamo battled to a 0-0 stalemate.
