SACRE BLEUS: FRANCE DOUBLES UP CROATIA 4-2 FOR SECOND WORLD CUP TITLE (FIRST SINCE '98)

In Sunday's championship game of the FIFA World Cup, contested at Luzhniki Stadium, goals from Mario Mandzukic (OG-18'), Antoine Griezmann (PK-38'; the first title-game penalty kick to be awarded following a video review), Paul Pogba (59'), and Kylian Mbappe (65'; that's him, celebrating with teammates after scoring his insurance goal) carried France to their second World Cup title (their first since 1998) 4-2 over Croatia.

Ivan Perisic (28') and the aforementioned Mario Mandzukic (69') each scored once for the Blazers, who capped off their best tournament appearance.

Les Blues joined Italy, Uruguay, Germany, Brazil, and Argentina as the only countries to win the title at least twice.
