US Open Cup: Philly, Fire, Dynamo, LAFC Advance To Semifinals

The quarterfinal round of the US Open Cup took place on Wednesday with four games.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Alejandro Bedoya scored the game's only goal in the fourth minute as the Philadelphia Union defeated visiting Orlando City 1-0.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

Nemanja Nikolic (16'), Aleksandar Katai (32'), Diego Campos (90'), and Elliot Collier (90'+2) each scored once as the Chicago Fire demolished the last remaining non-Major League Soccer club left in the tournament----Louisville City of the USL----4-0 at home.

At Houston:

Romell Quioto (35', 66') and Mauro Manotas (69', 88') each scored twice as the Houston Dynamo doubled up visiting Sporting Kansas City, knocking off the defending champions 4-2.

At Los Angeles:

Marco Urena scored the winning goal in the 51st minute as the Los Angeles Football Club held off the visiting Portland Timbers 3-2, ending the guests 14-match unbeaten streak in all competitions (though the Timbers are still riding a 12-game MLS unbeaten run).
