Darwin Quintero registered Minnesota United's first-ever MLS hat trick (8', 52', 57') as the Loons held off a late challenge from visiting Toronto FC 4-3.
At Frisco, Texas:
Tesho Akindele scored twice late (86', 88') as FC Dallas came from behind to upend visiting Atlanta United 3-2.
At Commerce City, Colorado:
Will Bruin scored twice (19', 59') as the Seattle Sounders defeated the Colorado Rapids 3-2 on the road.
At Sandy, Utah:
Jefferson Savarino (29'), Corey Baird (37'), Sebastian Saucedo (45'+1), and Luis Silva (PK-90'+10) each scored once as Real Salt Lake doubled up visiting Sporting Kansas City 4-2.
At Carson, California:
Zoltan Stieber (26') and Darren Mattocks (85') each scored once as DC United erased a two-goal deficit to gain a 2-2 road draw with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (5') and Chris Pontius (25') delivered the goals for the hosts.
