The CONCACAF League's preliminary round reached its' midway point on Thursday with three games.
At San Salvador, El Salvador:
Alianza dominated visiting San Francisco FC of Panama 5-1 in their series opener.
Jonathan Jimenez (15'), Raul Penaranda (25'), Wesley Cabrera (OG-35'), Marvin Monterroza (75'), and Herlbert Soto (81') each scored once for the hosts.
At Hamilton, Ontario:
David Choiniere scored the winning goal in the first minute of second-half stoppage time as Forge FC held off visting Antigua GFC of Guatemala 2-1 in game one.
At Guatemala City:
Comunicaciones topped visiting Marathon 2-1 in their series-opening contest as Gerardo Gordillo (47') and Jorge Vargas (54') delivering the goals.
