CONCACAF League: Motagua, San Carlos, Independiente Advance To Quarterfinals

The CONCACAF League's round of 16 is slated to continue on Tuesday with three games; all kickoff times are Pacific.

At Alajuela, Costa Rica:

After a second successive 0-0 stalemate, and with overtime dispensed with, Alvaro Saborio (remember him, Real Salt Lake and DC United fans?), Esteban Ramirez, Claudio Perez, and Jairo Arrieta each converted a spot kick as San Carlos won the penalty kick, 4-2 over visiting Santa Tecla.

At La Chorrera, Panama:

Jose Fajardo scored the game-and-series winner in the 35th minute as Independiente held off visiting SV Robinhood 2-1 in game two and ousted the Surinamese club 3-2 on aggregate.

At San Pedro Sula, Honduras:

Roberto Moreira converted a penalty kick in the 37th minute to help Motagua gain a 1-1 game-two draw with visiting Managua and win their series 3-2 on aggregate.
