MLS: Philly, CityZens Clinch Playoff Berths; Cincy, Caps Eliminated

Ten games were contested in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Jonathan Lewis' double (14', 87') helped made Robin Fraser's first game as the Colorado Rapids' new head coach a success as the guests blanked the New York Red Bulls 2-0.

At Columbus, Ohio:

Przemyslaw Frankowski's stoppage-time equalizer (90'+4) lifted the Chicago Fire to a 1-1 road draw with Columbus.

Pedro Santos tallied for the Crew in the 27th minute.

At Montreal:

Ola Kamara scored twice (20', 32') as DC United dominated the Montreal Impact 3-0 on the road to snap a three-game losing streak.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Gustavo Bou's equalizer in the 87th minute lifted the New England Revolution to a 1-1 home draw with Toronto FC.

Nicolas Benezet scored for the Reds in minute #74.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Brenden Aaronson (61'), Kacper Przybylko (86'), and Sergio Santos (88') each scored once in the final half-hour as the Philadelphia Union overcame Josef Martinez's goal (45'+2; that goal stretched his MLS-record consecutive games goal-scoring streak to 13) and visiting Atlanta United 3-1 to clinch a berth in the upcoming MLS Cup Playoffs.

At Frisco, Texas:

Ryan Hollingshead (12'), Michael Barrios (49'), and Zdenek Ondrasek (51') each scored once as FC Dallas overpowered visiting FC Cincinnati 3-1, making the visitors the first club to be mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

Johnny Russell goal in the 12th minute proved to be all the scoring as Sporting Kansas City downed the visiting Houston Dynamo 1-0.

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Heber (10'), Gary Mackay-Steven (26'), and Alexandru Mitrita (72') each scored a goal as New York City locked up a playoff berth by defeating the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1, eliminating the hosts from playoff contention.

At Portland, Oregon:

Diego Valeri scored the only goal of the match in the 16th minute as the Portland Timbers defeated visiting Real Salt Lake 1-0, despite finishing the game with ten men.

At San Jose, California:

Chris Wondolowski scored twice (20', 33') as the San Jose Earthquakes dominated visiting Orlando City 3-0.
