Europa League Playoff Round: Wolves, Bhoys, 'Gers, Copenhagen, Malmo, Parakeets, PSV, Feyenoord, F91 Dudelange Advance To Group Stage

21 Games were played on Thursday to close out the Europa League's playoff round.

Champions Path:

At Budapest, Hungary:

Roland Varga (PK-36'), Franck Boli (45'+1), Tokmac Nguen (66'), and Nikolai Signevich (PK-90'+6) each scored once as Ferencvaros doubled up visiting FK Suduva Marijampole 4-2 in game two and eliminated the Lithuanian club by that same score on aggregate.

At Riga, Latvia:

Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two road decision to Riga, FC Copenhagen still won their series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Solna, Sweden:

James Forrest (17'), Oscar Linner (OG-34'), Christopher Julien (87') and Lewis Morgan (90'+3) each scored once as Celtic demolished AIK Solna 4-0 on the road in game two and finished off the Swedish club 6-0 on aggregate.

At Luxembourg City:

After F91 Dudelange posted a favorable 2-1 regulation decision in game two against visiting Ararat-Armenia which leveled the series at 3-3 on aggregate, 30 scoreless minutes of overtime followed.

In the penalty-kick shootout the ensued, Corenthyn Lavie, Sabir Bougrine, Omar Natami, Danel Sinani (who had scored twice in regulation of game two), and Tom Schnell converted their spot kicks as the Luxembourgian club won the PK shootout 5-4 to advance to the group stage.

At Maribor, Slovenia:

Marcelinho (17') and Claudiu Keserij (PK-26') each scored once as Ludogorets Razgrad gained a 2-2 game-two road draw with NK Maribor and, with the aggregate score also at 2-2, won the series thanks to road goals.

At Baku, Azerbaijan:

Jaime Romero (6') and Abdellah Zoubir (88') each scored once as Qarabag held off visiting Linfield 2-1 in game two and, with the aggregate scored at 4-4, won their series on away goals.

At Thessaloniki, Greece:

Jurji Medvedev (38') and Vernon Morlacchi (61') each produced a goal as Slovan Bratislava, despite dropping a 3-2 game-two road decision to PAOK, won their series on away goals with the aggregate score at 3-3.

At Barysaw, Belarus:

Despite being blanked 2-0 on the road in game two against FC BATE Borisov, Astana still won their series with the Belorussian club 3-2 on aggregate.



Main Path:

At Wolverhampton, England:

Raul Jimenez (30') and Leander Dendocker (59') each scored once as Wolverhampton Wanderers held off visiting Torino 2-1 in game two and ousted the Italian club 5-3 on aggregate.

At Glasgow, Scotland:

Alfredo Morelos produced the only goal of both the match and series in the opening minute of second-half stoppage time as Rangers defeated Legia Warsaw 1-0 in both game two and the series on aggregate.

At Guimaraes, Portugal:

Edmond Tapsoba converted a penalty kick for the goal in the 53rd minute that sent Vitoria de Guimaraes into the Europa League's group stage after their 1-0 game-two home victory over Steaua Bucharest which enabled the Portuguese club to win their series by that same score on aggregate.

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

Donyell Malen scored twice (78', 90'+3) as PSV Einhoven scored four times in the final half-hour en route to a 4-0 game-two road beatdown of Apollon Limassol and won their series with the Cypriot club 7-0 on aggregate.

At Trabzon, Turkey:

Despite dropping a 2-0 game-two home decision to AEK Athens, Trabzonspor, with the aggregate score at 3-3, still won their series on road goals.

At Beersheba, Israel:

Orkun Kokcu (46'), Steven Berghuis (52'), and Wout Burger (61') each scored once as Feyenoord Rotterdam registered a second, dominating, 3-0 victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva, this time in Israel and won their series 6-0 on aggregate.

At Rijeka, Croatia:

Igor Plastun's goal in the 33rd minute enabled KAA Gent to gain a 1-1 game-two road draw with Rijeka and win their series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Zaporizhia, Ukraine (due to ongoing war conditions in eastern Ukraine):

Facundo Ferreyra (34') and Martin Vargas (62') each scored once as Espanyol gained a 2-2 game-two road draw with Zorya Luhansk and won their series 5-3 on aggregate.

At Molde, Norway:

Nemanja Miletic's goal in the 80th minute enabled Partizan Belgrade to gain a 1-1 game-two road draw with Molde FK and won their series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Moscow:

Ricardo Horta scored twice (42', 45'+2) as SC Braga defeated Spartak Moscow 2-1 on the road and won their series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Petah Tikva, Israel:

Guillermo Molins scored the only goal of the match in the seventh minute as Malmo FF defeated Bnei Yehuda 1-0 on the road in game two and won their series 4-0 on aggregate.

At Frankfurt, Germany:

Goals from Stefan Mitrovic (OG-27'), Filip Kostic (60'), and Danny Da Costa (66') enabled Eintracht Frankfurt, in a contest that saw both clubs reduced to ten men due to red-card ejections, dominate visiting Strasbourg 3-0 in game two and win their series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Brussels, Belgium:

After a second 1-1 deadlock that squared the series at 2-2 on aggregate, AZ Alkmaar, with tallies from Ferdy Druijf (96'), Teun Koopermeiners (PK-102'), and Albert Gudmundsson (113'), erupted for three overtime goals as they smothered Antwerp 3-0 on the road in game two and finished off the Belgian club 5-2 on aggregate.
