MLS: Five Stripes Repeat MLS Cup Final Performance Against Timbers

At Portland, Oregon:

In the lone Sunday Major League Soccer contest, Leandro Gonzalez-Pirez (14') and Josef Martinez (46') each scored a goal as Atlanta United blanked the Portland Timbers 2-0 on the road, the same score by which the Five Stripes downed the Timbers in last December's MLS Cup Final, which was played in Atlanta.

The Five Stripes moved to the top of the Eastern Conference standings with the victory.

Mr. Martinez extended his MLS record for scoring a goal in eleven straight contests.
