UEFA Champions League Qualifying: Qarabag, Club Brugge Take Series Openers

The third round of UEFA Champions League qualifying commenced on Tuesday with five games.

Champions Path:

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

Magaye Gueye scored the game winner in the 69th minute as Qarabag upended APOEL FC 2-1 on the road in their series-opening contest.

At Thessaloniki, Greece:

Hakim Ziyech (10') and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (57') each scored once as Ajax Amsterdam gained a series-opening 2-2 road draw with PAOK FC.

Chuba Akpom (32') and Leonardo Matos (39') each scored once for the hosts.

At Zagreb, Croatia:

David Siger's equalizer in the 59th minute lifted Ferencvaros to a series-opening 1-1 road draw with Dinamo Zagreb.

Daniel Olmo scored for the hosts in the seventh minute.

At Belgrade, Serbia:

Jonas Wind breezed in a successfully-converted penalty kick in the 84th minute for a precious road goal as FC Copenhagen gained a series-opening 1-1 road draw with Red Star Belgrade.

Milan Pavkov scored for the hosts in the 44th minute.

At Bruges, Belgium:

Hans Vanaken converted a penalty kick in the 37th minute as Club Brugge downed visiting Dynamo Kiev 1-0 in the opening contest of their two-game series.
