Leagues Cup: Tigres, Cruz Azul Advance To Final

Both games in the semifinal round of the Leagues Cup were contested on Tuesday.

At Houston:

After Club America's Bruno Valdez's late own goal (90'+5) deadlocked the game at 2-2, and with overtime dispensed with, Andre-Pierre Gignac, Enner Valencia, Luis Quinones, Luis Rodriguez, and Carlos Salcedo all converted their spot kicks as Tigres won the penalty-kick shootout 5-3 to advance to the final.

At Carson, California:

Orbelin Pineda scored the winning goal in the 47th minute to lift Cruz Azul to a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy.

It will be an all-Mexican final at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas as Cruz Azul will battle Tigres in the inaugural Leagues Cup final on September 18.
