The second round of the CAF Champions League came to a close on Sunday.
At Odurman, Sudan:
Al-Hilal Odurman erased the two-goal aggregate deficit following their series opener in Angola as they defeated Primeiro de Agosto 2-0 at home in game two to win the two-match set on the away goals rule (each team scored three times in the series).
At Harare, Zimbabwe:
Monomotapa United FC overturned the 1-0 road loss from two weeks ago in the Ivory Coast as they defeated ASEC Mimosas 2-0 at home in game two to capture their two-game series 2-1 on aggregate to advance to the group stage.
Two clubs each from Nigeria (Kano Pillars FC and Heartland FC) and Sudan (Al-Hilal Odurman and Al-Merreikh) and one each from Tunisia (Eloile Sportive du Sahel), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (TP Mazembe), Zambia (ZESCO United FC), and Zimbabwe (Monomotapa United FC) all qualified for the group stage.
