League Two Promotion Playoffs: Shrewsbury Town and Gillingham Advance To Final

The first round of England's League Two promotion playoffs concluded Sunday.

At Bury:

Kevin McIntyre scored at 88 minutes to give Shrewsbury Town a 1-0 road win in game two of their two-match playoff semifinal series. Then, after a scoreless 30 minutes of overtime, the visiting Shews won the penalty-kick shootout (with Ben Davies, Moses Ashikodi, Kevin McIntyre, and David Worrall all converting) 4-3 to advance to the promotion playoff final on May 23 at Wembley Stadium in London.

At Gillingham:

Simeon Jackson's double (13', PK-58') enabled Gillingham to hold off Rochdale 2-1 on the road in game two of their promotion playoff semifinal series and win the two-match set 2-1 on aggregate. The Gills will take on Shrewsbury Town in the final on May 23 at Wembley Stadium in London for promotion to League One. This marks another year without promotion for The Dale.
