The Philadelphia Union, a Major League Soccer expansion club scheduled to begin play next year, hired former DC United coach Peter Nowak as their first manager on Friday.
He remains the only man in MLS history to win a league title as a player (Chicago Fire, 1998) and as head coach (DC United, 2004)
