By winning the SPL title, Rangers directly qualified for the UEFA Champions League's group stage.

Celtic will attempt to qualify for the Champions League's group stage.

Hearts and Aberdeen, by finishing third and fourth respectively, qualified for Europa League (formerly UEFA Cup) play.

By finishing second in Scotland's Fair Play League, Motherwell has also qualified for Europa League play.

By reaching the final of Scotland's big domestic cup competition, Falkirk, who escaped relegation on Saturday by knocking off Inverness CT in their final league game, also qualified for Europa League play.
