Copa Libertadores

Four games were contested on Thursday as group-stage play in the Copa Libertadores came to a close.

GROUP C:

At Asuncion, Paraguay:

Cristian Palacios scored the only goal of the match in the 44th minute as Sporting Cristal knocked off Copa Libertadores knockout-stage-bound Club Olimpia 1-0 on the road to lock up a berth in the Copa Sudamericana's second stage.

At Mendoza, Argentina:

Angel Gonzalez scored the game's lone goal in the 24th minute as Godoy Cruz defeated visiting Universidad de Concepcion 1-0 to lock up a berth in the Copa Liberadores' knockout stage and ended the Chilean club's South American campaign.

Final Group C Standings:

1. Club Olimpia (GP: 6; GD: +3; PTS: 9)
2. Godoy Cruz (GP: 6; GD: +2; PTS: 9)
3. Sporting Cristal (GP: 6; GD: -3; PTS: 7)
4. Universidad de Concepcion (GP: 6; GD: -2; PTS: 6)

Club Olimpia and Godoy Cruzadvanced to the Copa Libertadores knockout stage; Sporting Cristal qualified for the second stage of the Copa Sudamericana.



GROUP G:

At Buenos Aires:

Carlos Tevez scored the stoppage-time game winner (90'+4) as Boca Juniors upended visiting Athletico Paranaense 2-1 to jump the Brazilian club and win Group G as both clubs will play in the knockout stage of the tournament.

At Cochabamba, Bolivia:

Marco Perez (17') and Alex Castro (61') each scored once as Deportes Tolima blanked Jorge Wilstermann 2-0 on the road to secure a berth in the Copa Sudamericana's second stage.

Final Group G Standings:

1. Boca Juniors (GP: 6; GD: +5; PTS: 11)
2. Athletico Paranaense (GP: 6; GD: +5; PTS: 9)
3. Deportes Tolima (GP: 6; GD: -1; PTS: 9)
4. Jorge Wilstermann (GP: 6; GD: -9; PTS: 50
