US Open Cup

The US Open Cup tournament's second round concluded on Wednesday with 13 games.

At San Francisco:

Qudos Lawal scored the only goal of the match in the 75th minute as Fresno FC (USL Championship) defeated El Farolito (NPSL) 1-0 on the road.

At Indianapolis:

Thomas Enevoldsen scored the game's lone goal in the 51st minute as the Indy Eleven (USL Championship), despite finishing with only ten men, defeated the visiting Lansing Ignite (USL League 1) 1-0.

At Cary, North Carolina:

Robert Cristo scored twice (52', PK-61') as North Carolina FC (USL Championship) dominated the visiting Richmond Kickers  (USL League 1) 4-1.

At Louisville, Kentucky:

Abdoul Thiam (12'), George Davis IV (19') and Sunny Jane (88') each scored once as Louisville City (USL Championship) dominated visiting Reading United AC (USL League 2) 3-0.

At Greenville, South Carolina:

Ian Svantesson scored twice (79', 90'+1) as the Charleston Battery (USL Championship) came from behind to knock off the Greenville Triumph (USL League 1) 2-1 on the road.

At Memphis, Tennessee:

Joshua Morton scored twice (26', 73') as Memphis 901 FC (USL Championship) defeated visiting New York Red Bulls U-23 (USL League 2) 3-1.

At Birmingham, Alabama:

Oluwafemi Hollinger-Janzen scored the winning goal in the 38th minute as the Birmingham Legion (USL Championship) dominated visiting West Chester United (LQ, NPSL) 4-1.

At Des Moines, Iowa:

After a 1-1 deadlock through 120 minutes, Lewis Hilton, Guy Abend, and Russell Cicerone each converted a spot kick as Saint Louis FC (USL Championship) won the penalty-kick shootout on the road, 3-1 over the Des Moines Menace (USL League 2).

At El Paso, Texas:

Jiro Barriga Toyama (19'), Christian Diaz (26'), and Jeffrey Michaud (76') each scored once as Forward Madison FC (USL League 1) knocked off the El Paso Locomotive 3-0 on the road.

At Colorado Springs, Colorado:

Kwasi Donsu scored the game's lone goal (45'+1) as the Colorado Springs Switchbacks (USL Championship) defeated visiting FC Denver (LQ, USASA) 1-0.

At Tempe, Arizona:

After a 2-2 deadlock through 120 minutes, Christopher Wehan, Santi Moar, Devon Sandoval, and Justin Schmidt converted their spot goals as visiting New Mexico United won the penalty-kick shootout 4-3 over Phoenix Rising in a battle of USL Championship clubs.

At Sacramento, California:

In another battle of USL Championship clubs, San Werner scored the only goal of the match in the 82nd minute as the Sacramento Republic defeated visiting Reno 1868 FC 1-0.

At Irvine, California:

After 120 minutes of play which saw the score stalemated at 2-2, Eder Arreola, Dakota Collins, Daniel Ten Bosch, Aaron Lombardi, and Cody Shelton all converted their spot kicks as Orange County FC (NPSL) won the penalty-kick shootout on the road, 5-3 over Orange County SC (USL Championship).
