At Rio de Janeiro:
Edinson Cavani scored the only goal of the match in the 82nd minute as Uruguay defeated Chile 1-0 to lock up top spot in Group C; both teams had already locked up berths in the quarterfinals.
At Belo Horizonte:
Angel Mena's equalizer in the 35th minute lifted Ecuador to a 1-1 draw with Japan which saw both teams eliminated from the tournament as Peru locked up a wild-card berth.
Shoya Nakajima scored for the Blue Samurai in the 15th minute.
