Ike Opara scored twice (18', 70') as Minnesota United, in their most lopsided victory of their MLS existence, scored a club record of goals in their 7-1 annihilation of visiting FC Cincinnati.
At Atlanta:
Justin Meram scored twice (35', 83') as Atlanta United defeated the visiting Montreal Impact 2-1.
At New York:
Maxi Morales (PK-23', PK-55') and Valentin Catellanos (71', 78') each scored twice as New York City doubled up the visiting Philadelphia Union 4-2.
At Columbus, Ohio:
Chris Mueller (41') and Tesho Akindele (66') each scored a goal as Orlando City blanked the Columbus Crew 2-0 on the road.
At Foxborough, Massachusetts:
Teal Bunbury's game winner in second-half stoppage time (90'+1) lifted the New England Revolution past the visiting Houston Dynamo 2-1.
At Washington:
Wayne Rooney's successfully-converted stoppage-time penalty-kick (90'+2) carried DC United to a 1-1 home draw with Toronto FC.
Nick DeLeon (a former DC United player) scored for the Reds in the 19th minute.
At Sandy, Utah:
Sam Johnson scored both goals (15', 29') in Real Salt Lake's 2-0 home victory over Sporting Kansas City.
At Palo Alto, California:
Vako (11'), Shea Salinas (82'), and Tommy Thompson (85') each scored once as the San Jose Earthquakes dominated the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy 3-0.
At Seattle:
Kelvin Leerdam scored the only goal of the match in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time as the Seattle Sounders defeated the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0 in a Cascadia Cup clash.
