US Open Cup: New Mexico United and Saint Louis Knock Off MLS Opponents To Advance To Quaterfinals; CityZens, Lions, Timbers Also Win

Five games were contested on Wednesday as the US Open Cup's Round of 16 continued.

At Washington:

Alexandru Mitrita (38') and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi (41') each scored a goal three minutes apart late in the first half as New York City knocked off DC United 2-1 on the road.

At Orlando, Florida:

Benji Michel (96') and Tesho Akindele (101') each scored an overtime goal as Orlando City held off the visiting New England Revolution 2-1.

At Dallas:

Kevaughn Frater (45') and Sam Hamilton (64') each scored a goal as New Mexico United of the USL Championship came from behind to knock off FC Dallas 2-1 on the road.

At Fenton, Missouri:

Sam Fink scored the only goal of the match (90'+3) as Saint Louis FC, another USL Championship club, bumped off visiting FC Cincinnati 1-0.

At Portland, Oregon:

Perry Kitchen (OG-28'), Brian Fernandez (34'), Sebastian Blanco (37'), and Jorge Moreira (82') each scored once as the Portland Timbers demolished the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy 4-0.
