At Washington:
In an all-MLS contest, Chris McCann (118') and Wayne Rooney (120') each scored an overtime goal as DC United defeated the visiting Philadelphia Union 2-1.
At Queens, New York:
Keaton Parks scored twice (52', 76') as New York City demolished visiting North Carolina FC (USL Championship) 4-0.
At Cincinnati:
Kekuta Manneh scored the game-winning overtime goal in the 103rd minute as FC Cincinnati won their first Open Cup match as an MLS club by defeated visiting Louisville City (USL Championship) 2-1.
At St. Paul, Minnesota:
Carlos Darwin Quintero scored twice (55', 67') as Minnesota United dominated visiting Sporting Kansas City 4-1 in an all-MLS matchup.
At Dallas:
Matt Hedges (11'), Michael Barrios (43'), Dominique Badji (52'), and Reto Ziegler (PK-90') each scored once as FC Dallas demolished the visiting Oklahoma City Energy (USL Championship) 4-0.
At Memphis, Tennessee:
Sacha Kljestan scored twice (PK-38', 55') as Orlando City defeated Memphis 901 FC of the USL Championship 2-1 on the road.
At Commerce City, Colorado:
After a 2-2 regulation draw, which was followed by 30 scoreless overtime minutes, Kevaughn Frater (who had scored in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time to force overtime), Santi Moar, Devon Sandoval (who had scored in the third minute of regulation), and Christopher Wehan each converted a spot kick as New Mexico United, a USL Championship expansion club, knocked off the Colorado Rapids 4-2 in the penalty-kick shootout.
At Carson, California:
Efrain Alvarez scored twice (55', 61') as the Los Angeles Galaxy dominated the last remaining fourth-division club in the tournament, visiting Orange County FC of the NPSL, 3-0.
At Tacoma, Washington:
Brian Fernandez scored twice (6', 50') as the Portland Timbers defeated the Seattle Sounders 2-1 in an all-MLS contest.
