Europa League: The Road To Gdansk (And Possibly The 2020-21 Champions League) Starts

Seven games were played on Thursday as the Europa League's preliminary round is set to commence.

At Differdange, Luxembourg:

Mayron De Almeida scored the only goal of the match in the 62nd minute as Progres Niederkorn topped visiting Cardiff Metropolitan University 1-0 in the opening contest of their two-game series.

At Serravalle, San Marino:

Aaron Sanchez scored the game's lone goal in the 31st minute as Andorra's Engordany knocked off La Fiorita 1-0 in their series-opening match.

At Andorra la Vella, Andorra:

Joel Mendez scored twice (44', 64') and Pedro Munoz once (90'+3) as Sant Julia held off Gibraltar's Europa FC 3-2 in an exciting series-opening contest.

At Ballymena, Northern Ireland:

Leroy Millar (49') and Jude Winchester (55') each scored once as Ballymena United blanked visiting NSI Runavik 2-0 in their series opener.

At Pristina, Kosovo:

Juan Pena's equalizer in the 31st minute carried St. Joseph's of Gibraltar to a series-opening 1-1 deadlock with FC Prishtina.

Armend Dallku converted a penalty kick in the 28th minute for the Clods' score.

At Torshavn, Faroe Islands:

Joannes Bjartalid scored twice (73', 83') as KI Klaksvik all but finished off Tre Fiori with their series-opening 5-1 demolition of the club from San Marino.

At Cardiff, Wales:

Barry Town United  and visiting Cliftonville battled to a series-opening 0-0 stalemate.
