FIFA Women's World Cup: It's The Round Of 16 For Italy, Brazil, and the Matildas

Two games were contested in France as action in Group C of the FIFA Women's World Cup came to a close.

At Grenoble:

Samantha May Kerr produced a quadruple (11', 42', 69', 83') with two goals scored in each half as Australia dominated  Jamaica 4-1 as the Matildas advanced to the knockout stage.

At Valenciennes:

Marta's successful penalty kick in the 74th minute lifted Brazil to a 1-0 victory over Italy as The Female Canaries joined the Italians in advancing to the knockout stage.

Final Group C Standings:

1. Italy (GP: 3; GD: +5; PTS: 6)
2. Australia (GP: 3; GD: +3; PTS: 6)
3. Brazil (GP: 3; GD: +3; PTS: 6)
4. Jamaica (GP: 3; GD: -11; PTS: 0)

Italy, Australia, and Brazil advanced to the knockout stage.
