At Port of Spain, Trinidad:
Carlos Small (39') and Enrico Small (62') each scored once as Panama's Arabe Unido knocked off Central FC 2-1 on the road in the opening contest of their two-game series.
At Tegucigalpa, Honduras:
Carlo Costly (3') and Kevin Alvarez (25') each scored a goal in the opening half-hour as CD Olimpia opened their two-match series with a 2-0 home blanking of Costa Rica's LD Alajuelense.
At Esteli, Nicaragua:
Walter Ferretti smothered the visiting Belmopan Bandits from Belize 4-1 in their series opener. Jose Laureiro (75', 90'+2) scored twice to lead the Nicaraguan club.
