Copa Libertadores: Botafogo, Santos, San Lorenzo Advance To Quarterfinals

The Round of 16 in the Copa Libertadores finished up play on Thursday with three games.

At Rio de Janeiro:

Bruno Silva (2') and Rodrigo Pimpao (5') each scored once nice and early in the contest as Botafogo blanked visiting Club Nacional 2-0 in game two and ousted the Uruguayan club 3-0 on aggregate.

At Santos, Brazil:

Bruno Henrique scored the only goal of the match in the 77th minute as Santos defeated visiting Atletico Paranaense 1-0 and won their all-Brazilian series 4-2 on aggregate.

At Buenos Aires:

After Osbaldo Lastra's goal in the 47th minute enabled Club
Sport Emelec to square their series with San Lorenzo at 1-1 on aggregate after topping the hosts 1-0 in regulation in game two, and with overtime dispensed with, Nicolas Blandi, Matias Caruzzo, Marcos Angeleri, Gabriel Gudino, and Nicolas Reinero each converted a spot kick to lift the Argentinian club to take the penalty-kick shootout 5-4.

Here are the match-ups for the quarterfinal round with the game-one hosts listed first.  The opening matches are set to start September 12-14, with the return contests set for September 19-21.
