Europa League: Toffees, Yellow Canaries, Athletic Bilbao, Braga Advance To Playoff Round

27 games were contested on Thursday as the third round of Europa League qualifying came to a close.

At Osijek, Croatia:

Petar Bockaj scored the only goal of the match in the 25th minute as Osijek delivered a second 1-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven, this time at home, and ended the Dutch club's European campaign 2-0 on aggregate.

At Strumica, Macedonia:

Ferhan Hasani scored twice (42', 88') as Shkendija dominated visiting Trakai 3-0 in game two and won their series 4-2 on aggregate.

At Soborg, Denmark:

Mauricio Pereyra scored twice in the first half-hour (9', 22') as FC Krasnodar defeated Lyngby 3-1 on the road in game two and won their series 5-2 on aggregate.

At Istanbul, Turkey:

Nabil Dirar scored in the 32nd minute as Fenerbahce gained a 1-1 game-two home draw with Sturm Graz and eliminated the Austrian club 3-2 on aggregate.

At Baku, Azerbaijan:

Robin Lod (63') and Bryan Cabezas (66') each scored once as Panathinaikos defeated Gabala 2-1 on the road in game two and won their series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Elbasan, Albania:

After Sabien Lilaj (PK-55') and Sebino Plaku (83') each scored a goal in regulation to enable Skenderbeu Korce to outlast visiting FK Mlada Boleslav from the Czech Republic 2-1 in game two to square their series at 3-3 on aggregate, 30 minutes of scoreless overtime followed, then, in the penalty-kick shootout, Orges Shehi, Liridon Latifi, Gjergji Muzaka, and the aforementioned Sabien Lilaj converted their spot kicks as the Albanian club won the shootout 4-2 to advance to the playoff round.

At Skien, Norway:

A 0-0 game-two road stalemate with Odds BK was good enough for Dinamo Zagreb as the Croatian club won theirs series 2-1 on aggregate.

At Bilbao, Spain:

Raul Garcia scored twice during a five-minute span in the opening half-hour (24'. 29') as Athletic Bilbao dominated visiting Dinamo Bucharest 3-0 in game two and took out the Romanian club 4-1 on aggregate.

At Thessaloniki, Greece:

Robert Mak (24') and Gojko Cimirot (45'+1) each scored a goal as PAOK FC blanked visiting Olimpik Donetsk 2-0 in game two and won their series 3-1 on aggregate.


At Herning, Denmark:

With goals couresy of Tadeusz Socha (OG-77') and Alexander Sorloth (90'+3), FC Midtjylland defeated visiting Arka Gdynia 2-1 in game two, and with the aggregate score at 4-4, advanced on away goals.

At Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg:

Gabriel Somi (59') and Tom Pettersson (66') each scored once as Ostersund defeated Fola Esch 2-1 on the road in game two and won their series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Felcsut, Hungary:

Stopira scored the series-winning goal in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time as Videoton defeated visiting Bordeaux 1-0 in game two and, with the aggregate score at 2-2, won their series on away goals.

At Athens, Greece:

Panagiotis Korbos' own goal in the 79th minute enabled Maccabi Tel Aviv to rack up a second 1-0 win over Panionios, this time on the road, and win their series with the Greek club 2-0 on aggregate.

At Poznan, Poland:

Gyrano Kerk (1') and Zakaria Labyad (89') each scored once as FC Utrecht gain a 2-2 game-two road draw with Lech Poznan, enabling the Dutch club, with the aggregate score also at 2-2, to advance to the playoff round on away goals.

At Milan, Italy:

Giacomo Bonaventura (9') and Patrick Cutrone (52') each scored a goal as AC Milan blanked visiting CS Universitatea Craiova 2-0 in game two and won their series 3-0 on aggregate.

At Split, Croatia:

Ante Erceg scored both goals (59', 63') in Hajduk Split's 2-0 game-two home blanking of Brondby, which carried them into the playoff round by that same score on aggregate.

At Innsbruck, Austria:

Noumi Ngamaleu (11'), Stefan (Ya Gotta Be) Nutz (76'), and Kristijan Dobras (88') each scored once as Rheindorf Altach defeated visiting KAA Gent 3-1 in game two and finished off the Belgian club 4-2 on aggregate.

At Oleksandria, Ukraine:

Andriy Zaporozhan's successfully-converted penalty kick in the 42nd minute produced the only goal both the game and the series as FC Oleksandriya defeated visiting Astra Giurgiu 1-0 in game two and in the series by that same score on aggregate.

At Ruzomberok, Slovakia:

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the game's lone goal in the 80th minute as Everton registered a second 1-0 victory over Ruzomberok, this time on the road, and won their series 2-0 on aggregate.

At Larnaca, Cyprus:

Andre Schembri (17') and Emilio Zelaya (86') each scored a goal as Apollon Limassol overcame their series-opening road defeat by blanking visiting Aberdeen 2-0 in game two and won their series 3-2 on aggregate.

At Prague, Czech Republic:

Richmond Boakye scored the only goal of the match in the 19th minute as Red Star Belgrade defeated Sparta Prague 1-0 on the road in game two and won their series 3-0 on aggregate.

At Funchal, Portugal:

Rodrigo Pinho (PK-34') and Ricardo Jorge Oliveira Valente (49') produced the goals as Maritimo blanked visiting Botev Plovdiv 2-0 in game two and eliminated the Bulgarian club that that same score on aggregate.

At Saint Petersburg, Russia:

Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two home decision, Zenit Saint Petersburg still ousted Bnei Yehuda 2-1 on aggregate.

At Ostend, Belgium:

A 0-0 game-two road stalemate with Oostende was good enough for Marseille as the French club won their series 4-2 on aggregate.

At Ljubljana, Slovenia:

Semijad Ibricic (PK-50') and Lovro Bizjak (59') each scored a goal as NK Domzale overcame their 1-0 series-opening road defeat with a 2-0 game-two blanking of visiting SC Freiburg and eliminated the German club 2-1 on aggregate.

At Minsk, Belarus:

Acoran Barrera Reyes scored a goal in the third minute of second-half stoppage time to lift AEK Larnaca to a 1-1 game-two road draw with Dinamo Minsk and a berth in the playoff round after disposing of the Belarusian club 3-1 on aggregate.

At Braga, Portugal:

After Rui Fonte's goal in the 74th minute enabled SC Braga to gain a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation with AIK Solna, that squaring the series at 2-2 on regulation, Raul Silva scored the series-winning goal for the hosts in the opening minute of second-overtime-period stoppage time to send the Portuguese club to the playoff round, 3-2 on aggregate.
