MLS: Sounders, Reds, Revs, Dynamo, Impact, Crew, Citizens Garner Saturday Wins; Hoops And Rapids Battle To Weather-Delayed Stalemate; DC-RSL Flooded Out, To Resume Sunday At RFK

Nine of an originally-scheduled ten games were contested on Saturday in Major League Soccer.

AT Seattle:

Clint Dempsey scored the only goal of the match in the 36th minute as the Seattle Sounders defeated visiting Sporting Kansas City 1-0.

At Toronto:

Justin Morrow scored twice (58', 76') as Toronto FC broke open what was a scoreless stalemate at halftime and ran roughshod over the visiting Portland Timbers 4-1.

At Washington:

DC United's home contest with Real Salt Lake was postponed due to a heavy rainstorm with flooded RFK Stadium.  The contest was abandoned after just under 28 minutes.  The game will resume on Sunday at 4:00 PM Pacific Time.

At Columbus, Ohio:

Kekuta Menneh (18'), Justin Meram (73'), and Ola Kamara (PK-88') each scored once as the Columbus Crew overcame an early deficit and upended the visiting Chicago Fire 3-1.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Leo Pereira (OG-30'), Bradley Wright-Phillips (60'), and Sean Davis (80') each scored once as the New York Red Bulls defeated visiting Orlando City 3-1.

At Frisco, Texas:

After a lengthy lightning-induced weather delay, FC Dallas and the visiting Colorado Rapids battled to a 0-0 stalemate.  Once again, the Hoops had a Maximiliano Urruti goal disallowed after a video review due to a Dallas infraction, this time shortly before halftime.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Teal Bunbury's goal in the 53rd minute provided all the scoring in the New England Revolution's 1-0 home win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Blerim Dzemaili scored twice (69', 90'+5) as the Montreal Impact went on a scoring barrage in the final half-hour and manhandled the Philadelphia Union 3-0 on the road.

At Houston:

Alberth Elis (21'), Vicente Sanchez (86'), and Mauro Manotas (90'+4) each scored once as the Houston Dynamo remained unbeaten at home following their 3-0 domination of the San Jose Earthquakes.

At Carson, California:

Jonathan Lewis (54') and David Villa (73') each scored once as New York City blanked the Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0 on the road.
