At Manchester:
Third-place Liverpool and homestanding Manchester City played to a deadlocked 0-0 yawner.
At Reading:
Stephen Hunt provided the lone goal (15') of Reading's 1-0 home win over struggling Fulham.
At Portsmouth:
Benjani Mwaruwari (7') and Matthew Taylor (59') provided the goals for Portsmouth as the hosts bested Newcastle United 2-1.
At Middlesbrough:
Aston Villa spotted Middlesbrough an early 1-0 lead before Craig Gardner (45'), Luke Moore (70'), and Stiliyan Petrov (77') tallied to lead the visiting Villans to a 3-1 win over Boro.
