Rangers Tighten Hold On Second Place, Keep Slim Hopes Of Winning Title Alive

At St. Mirren:

In Sunday's lone Scottish Premier League match, Nacho Novo's 4th-minute goal held up for Rangers as the guests defeated St. Mirren 1-0 to all but clinch no worse than second place in the SPL standings, and keep their slim hopes of catching archrival Celtic for the title alive. The Saints, on the other hand, are now four points ahead of Dunfermline in their fight to avoid relegation.
