Red and Blacks Put Lyon Title Celebration On Hold; Bordeuax Blank Nancy

Two games were played Wednesday in France's Ligue 1:

At Lyon:

Visiting Rennes prevented Lyon from clinching their sixth straight league title by holding the hosts to a 0-0 stalemate.

At Bordeuax:

Marouane Chamakh's first-half double (18', 43') helped powered Bordeuax to a 3-0 home whitewashing of AS Nancy Lorraine. The win placed the Girondins in fourth place (a UEFA Cup berth) in the Ligue 1 standings, only one point out of a Champions League qualification berth.
