Europa League: Bhoys, 'Gers, Bordeaux, Trond Kids, Olympiacos, Genk, Black Eagles, RB Leipzig Advance To Group Stage

The playoff round for Europa League group-stage berths concluded on Thursday with 21 games.

CHAMPIONS PATH:

At Trnava, Slovakia:

Boris Godal's goal in the 12th minute enabled Spartak Trnava to gain a 1-1 game-two home draw with Olimpija Ljubjana, good enough for the Slovak club to win their series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Skopje, Macedonia:

Evan Hovland (16') and Tore Reginiussen (84') delivered the goals that carried Rosenborg BK to a 2-0 road blanking of Shkendija as the Norwegian club took their series 5-1 on aggregate.

At Cluj-Napoca, Romania:

Danel Sinani scored twice (51', 54') as F91 Dudelange defeated CFR Cluj 3-2 on the road in game two and won their series 5-2.

At Glasgow, Scotland:

Leigh Griffiths (27'), Callum McGregor (53'), and Kristoffer Ajer (61') each scored once as Celtic dominated visiting FK Suduva Marijampole 3-0 in game two and took out the Lithuanian club 4-1 on aggregate.

At Baku, Azerbaijan:

Maksim Medvedev (9'), Donald Guerrier (42'), and Filip Ozobic (55') each scored once as Qarabag overturned their series-opening defeat by dominating visiting FC Sheriff 3-0 in game two and won their series 3-1 on aggregate.

At Herning, Denmark:

Marcus Antonsson (32') and Markus Rosenberg (79') each scored once as Malmo FF blanked FC Midtjylland 2-0 on the road and won their series with the Danish club 4-2 on aggregate.

At Razgrad, Bulgaria:

Gustavo Campanharo scored twice (38', 59') as Ludogorets Razgrad demolished visiting Torpedo Kutaisi 4-0 in game two and defused the Georgian club 5-0 on aggregate.

At Astana, Kazakhstan:

After taking a 1-0 regulation decision in game two against visiting APOEL, which resulted in the series being deadlocked at 1-1 on aggregate (followed by 30 scoreless overtime minutes), Richard Almeida and Pedro Henrique each converted a spot kick, Astana won the penalty-kick shootout 2-1.



MAIN PATH:

At Seville, Spain:

Maxime Gonalons (21'), Martin Nespor (OG-26'), and Wissam Ben Yedder (75') each scored once as Sevilla dominated visiting Sigma Olomouc 3-0 in game two and finished off the Czech club 4-0 on aggregate.

At Netanya, Israel:

Ole Jorgen Halvorsen's successfully-executed penalty kick in the 81st minute proved vital as Sarpsborg 08, despite dropping a 2-1 game-two road decision to Maccabi Tel Aviv, still won their series 4-3 on aggregate.

At Bordeaux, France:

After a scoreless opening match, Francois Kamano (10') and Jimmy Briand (PK-64') delivered the goals that propelled Bordeaux to a 2-0 game-two home blanking of KAA Gent and a series victory on aggregate by that same score.

At Istanbul, Turkey:

Pepe scored twice (37', 68') as Besiktas dominated visiting Partizan Belgrade 3-0 in game two and ousted the Serbian club 4-1 on aggregate.

At Bucharest, Romania:

Mario Sonnleitner's goal in the 63rd minute proved vital for Rapid Vienna, who won their series with Steaua Bucharest 4-3 on aggregate, despite dropping a 2-1 game-two road decision in the Romanian capital.

At Nicosia, Cyprus:

Charalambos Kyriakou scored the series winner in the 53rd minute as Apollon Limassol defeated visiting FC Basel 1-0 in game two and, with the aggregate score at 3-3, won the series on away goals.

At Ufa, Russia:

Oviemuno Ejaria scored the series-wining goal in the ninth minute as Rangers gained a 1-1 game-two road draw with Ufa and won their series 2-1 on aggregate.

At Copenhagen, Denmark:

After 90 minutes of scoreless game-two regulation, followed by an extra half-hour of goal-free soccer, making it 210 of nothin' but goose eggs for the series,  Pieros Soteriou, Jan Gregus, Robert Skov, and Denis Vavro converted their spot kicks as FC Copenhagen won the penalty-kick shootout, 4-3 over visiting Atalanta.

At Molde, Norway:

Daler Kuzyaev's goal at 21 minutes was vital for Zenit Saint Petersburg, as the Russian club, despite dropping a 2-1 game-two road decision to Molde FK, won their series 4-3 on aggregate.

At Larnaca, Cyprus:

Apostolos Giannou scored twice (1', 65') as AEK Larnaca dominated visiting Trencin 3-0 in game two and won their series 4-1 on aggregate.

At Brondbyvester, Denmark:

Ruslan Malinovskiy (15'), Dieumerci Ndongala (33'), Sebastien Dewaest (66'), and Mbwana Samatta (87') each scored once as KRC Genk doubled up Brondby 4-2 on the road in game two and won their series 9-4 on aggregate.

At Burnley, England:

Daniel Podence scored in the 83rd minute as Olympiacos gained a game-two 1-1 road draw with Burnley and won their series with the English club 4-2 on aggregate.

At Leipzig, Germany:

Emil Forsberg's penalty-kick in the 90th minute was the series winner as RB Leipzig defeated visiting Zorya Luhansk 3-2 in game two and eliminated the Ukrainian club by that same score on aggregate.
