In Atlanta United's 3-1 home win over the Columbus Crew, Josef Martinez scored his 27th goal of the season in the 31st minute, equaling the single-season league record for most goals in a season (first set in 1996 by Roy Lassiter of the now-defunct Tampa Bay Mutiny; equaled in 2012 by the San Jose
Earthquakes' Chris Wondolowski and in 2014 by the New York Red Bulls' Bradley Wright-Phillips).
Hector Vallalba (76') and Miguel Almiron (82') also scored once apiece for the Five Stripes.
At Washington:
Luciano Acosta (1') and Zoltan Stiebler (89') each scored once in opposite portions of the match as DC United stretched their winning streak to three games by blanking the visiting New England Revolution 2-0.
At Los Angeles:
Lee Nguyen (49') and Diego Rossi (80') delivered the goals as the Los Angeles Football Club blanked the visiting Colorado Rapids 2-0.
