Wayne Rooney scored twice (43', 68') while Oniel Fisher (47') and Darren Mattocks (90'+1) each scored once as DC United dominated the visiting Portland Timbers 4-1.
At Los Angeles:
Cristian Ramirez scored twice (13', 30') as the Los Angeles Football Club blanked visiting Real Salt Lake 2-0.
