UEFA Champions League Qualifying: Malmo, Ajax, Red Star Belgrade, BATE, Bhoys Advance To Third Qualifying Round

The second round of UEFA Champions League qualifying concluded on Wednesday with nine games.

CHAMPIONS PATH:

At Herning, Denmark:

A 0-0 game-two road deadlock with FC Midtjylland enabled Astana to win their series with the Danish club 2-1 on aggregate.

At Felcsut, Hungary:

Anel Hadzic scored the only goal of both the game and the series win the 45th minute as MOL Vidi defeated visiting Ludogorets Razgrad 1-0 in game two and the series by that same score on aggregate.

At Baku, Azerbaijan:

Dani Quintana converted a pair of penalty kicks (24', 57') as Qarabag dominated visiting Kukesi 3-0 in game two and ousted the Albanian club by that same score on aggregate.

At Malmo, Sweden:

Arnor Traustason's goal in the 55th minute carried Malmo FF to a game-two 1-1 home draw with CFR Cluj and a 2-1 aggregate series victory over the Romanian club.

At Marijampole, Lithuania:

El Fardou Ben Nabouhane (8') and Nemanja Radonjic (38') each scored once as Red Star Belgrade blanked FK Suduva Marijampole 2-0 on the road in game two and completed their two-match whitewashing of the Lithuanian club 5-0 on aggregate.

At Helsinki, Finland:

Ihar Stasevich scored the game and series-winning goal in the 24th minute as FC BATE Borisov held off HJK Helsinki 2-1 on the road in game two and won their series by that same score on aggregate.

At Trondheim, Norway:

A game-two 0-0 road stalemate with Rosenborg was good enough for Celtic as the Bhoys won their series with the Norwegian club 3-1 on aggregate.




LEAGUE PATH:

At Basel, Switzerland:

Fernando Varela (7'), Aleksandar Prijovic (52'), and Omar El Kaddouri (60') each scored once as PAOK FC dominated FC Basel 3-0 on the road in game two and won their series 5-1 on aggregate.

At Graz, Austria:

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored twice (39', 77') as Ajax Amsterdam defeated Sturm Graz 3-1 on the road in game two and won their series 5-1 on aggregate.
