UEFA Champions League: PSV, Benfica, Red Star Belgrade Advance To Group Stage


The playoff round for UEFA Champions League group-stage berths is set to conclude on Wednesday with three games, all set to kick off at 12:00 Noon Pacific Time.

CHAMPIONS PATH:

At Wals-Siezenheim, Austria:

El Fardou Ben Nabouhane scored twice in the span of a minute (65', 66') as Red Star Belgrade erased a two goal deficit to gain a game-two 2-2 road draw with FC Red Bull Salzburg, good enough for the Serbian club to win the series on away goals (2-2 on aggregate).

At Eindhoven, Netherlands:

Steven Bergwijn (14'), Luuk De Jong (36'), and Hirving Lozano (62') each scored once as PSV Eindhoven dominated visiting FC BATE Borisov 3-0 in game two and ousted the Belorussian club 6-2 on aggregate.


LEAGUE PATH:

At Thessaloniki, Greece:

Eduardo Salvio converted a pair of penalty kicks (26', 50') as SL Benfica dominated PAOK FC 4-1 on the road in game two and won their two-match series 5-2 on aggregate.
