2010 FIFA World Cup, Group B: Argentina Wins Group; Taeguk Warriors Advance With Draw Versus Super Eagles

Group B action concluded in the World Cup in South Africa on Tuesday.

At Polokwane:

Martin Demichelis (77') and Martin Palermo (89') scored late to lift Argentina to a 2-0 win over Greece to win Group B.

At Durban:

South Korea and Nigeria battled to a 2-2 draw, enabling the Taeguk Warriors to advance beyond the first round of a World Cup played outside their home country for the first time.  Lee Jung-Soo (38') and Park Chu-Young (49') each tallied once for South Korea.  Despite goals from Kalu Uche (12') and Yakubu Aiyengbeni (PK-69'), the Super Eagles were still eliminated from the tournament.  Yakubu's penalty kick came just moments after his shot from close range went wide left.
