Italy came from behind to salvage a campaign-opening 1-1 draw with Paraguay. Antolin Alcaraz put the Paraguayans ahead with his goal at 39 minutes. However, a miscue by Paraguay's goalkeeper Justo Villar enabled Daniele De Rossi to score the equalizer for the Azzurri in the 63rd minute.
