US Open Cup: Timbers To Get Another Crack At Sounders

The second round of the Lamar Hunt US Open took place with eight games on Tuesday.

At Harrisburg, Pennsylvania:

Geoff Bloes scored the only goal of the match as the Harrisburg City Stars (USL-2) defeated the visiting Long Island Rough Riders 1-0.

At Richmond, Virginia:

In a battle of USL-2 clubs, the Richmond Kickers, with goals from Yomby William (10'), Matthew Delicate (69'), and Bobby Fogleson (79'),  defeated the visiting Real Maryland Monarchs 3-1.

At Rochester, New York:

Tyler Rosenlund scored twice (3', 66') as the Rochester Rhinos (D2 Pro) blanked the visiting Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL-2) 3-0.

At Charleston, South Carolina:

Pierre-Rudolph Maynard (23') and Lamar Neagle (41') each tallied once as the Charleston Battery (USL-2) knocked off the visiting Carolina RailHawks (D2 Pro) 2-1.

At Fort Lauderdale, Florida:

In a intrastate contest between two D2 Pro League clubs, Miami FC defeated FC Tampa Bay 2-1 in overtime, thanks to Abe Thompson's penalty kick at 98 minutes.

At Blaine, Minnesota:

In another contest between two D2 Pro League clubs, Mike Ambersley scored the only goal of the match (35') as AC St. Louis defeated the NSC Minnesota Stars 1-0 on the road.

At Austin, Texas:

Perica Marosevic's hat trick (35', 81', 90') carried the Austin Aztex (D2 Pro) to a 3-1 home win over the Arizona Sahuaros (USASA)

At Bremerton, Washington:

Bright Dike's hat trick (37', 47', 62') enabled the Portland Timbers (D2 Pro) to overpower the Kitsap Pumas (PDL) 4-1 on the road.
