Here are my predictions for Group A:
South Africa will take on Mexico in the opening match of the tournament one week from Friday in Johannesburg. Uruguay will take on France that same day in Cape Town. On June 16, South Africa and Uruguay will battle at Pretoria while on the 17th, Mexico and France will go at it in Polokwane. For their final group stage contests, on June 22, it will be Mexico vs. Uruguay at Rustenburg, while France will take on South Africa at Bloemfontein.
My projections:
1. France
2. Mexico
3. South Africa
4. Uruguay
I think France will defeat South Africa and Uruguay and gain a draw with Mexico, who will defeat South Africa and draw with Uruguay. South Africa may have a real shot at beating Uruguay, but Bafana Bafana will have their problems with France and El Tri, who will advance to the Round of 16.
