2010 FIFA World Cup, Round of 16: Germany Blasts England

At Bloemfontein, South Africa:

Germany overpowered England in World Cup Round of 16 play 4-1 on Sunday.  The Germans got goals from Miroslav Klose (20'), Lukas Podolski (32'), and Thomas Mueller (67', 70', that's him, center, celebrating with teammate Mesut Oezil).  The Three Lions got their one goal at 37 minutes from Matthew Upson, but were robbed of a potential equalizer when Frank Lampard's goal late in the first half----which was clearly over the goal line---was waived off by referee Jorge Larrionda.  FIFA will likely again be criticized for their fear of technology and their refusal to permit replay.
