2010 FIFA World Cup, Group H: Chile Solves Swiss Defense, Thanks To South African Native; David Villa Double Powers Spain

The second cycle of matches in the group stage of the World Cup in South Africa concluded Monday as all four teams in Group H competed in two games.

At Port Elizabeth:

South African-born Mark Gonzalez (that's him [front] celebrating with Alexis Sanchez) scored at 75 minutes as Chile defeated Switzerland 1-0.  The goal ended the Swiss record-setting streak of 558 consecutive minutes without being scored upon in World Cup play.  By then, the Swiss had been reduced to ten men after midfielder Valon Behrami became the first player for that team ever to be ejected via red card in a World Cup finals match in the 31st minute.
