Thursday saw the conclusion of play in Group F in South Africa.
At Johannesburg:
Robert Vittek scored twice (25', 73', the second goal pictured here as he beats Italian goalkeeper Federico Marchetti) and Kamil Kopunek scored the game winner at 89 minutes as Slovakia stunned---and detroned---defending champions Italy 3-2 as they laid claim to a berth in the knockout stage in their first World Cup as a separate, independent, country.

At Polokwane:
A 0-0 stalemate with New Zealand clinched the Group F title for Paraguay. The All Whites became only the fourth team in World Cup history to be eliminated in the group stage despite goind undefeated (three draws). 1. Paraguay (GP: 3; GD: +2; PTS: 5)
2. Slovakia (GP: 3; GD: -1; PTS: 4)
3. New Zealand (GP: 3; GD: 0; PTS: 3)
4. Italy (GP: 3; GD: -1; PTS: 2)
Paraguay and Slovakia advanced to the knockout stage.
On Monday, The Netherlands will take on Slovakia at Durban.
On Tuesday, it will be Paraguay and Japan going at it at Pretoria.
